Itineraires d'Orient

"Itineraires d'Orient" is a documentary about the Middle East, intended for French high schools and universities.

Back in July 2016, 4 french students (Fabio Grieco, Louis Conrath, Thibault Chapiron and Thomas Guichard) took a one month trip through five countries of the Middle East (Lebanon, Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Israel/Palestine), visited 16 cities and did 44 interviews. The goal was to explain the political system of the countries we visited in order to put forward local positive initiatives. Maintain historical depth while distancing oneself from the prevailing pessimism.

In preparation for the trip, I took care of the creation of our organization logo, the creation of our website as well as the creation of a pre-trip Trailer in order to present our project publicly.

During the trip, I was in charge of the complete technical making of the documentary. I was in charge of the cinematography of the entire trip, the data management, interviews recordings, as well as illustrating our trip through photography.

After the trip, I created the teaser presenting the first images of our documentary and then edited the whole documentary (80"), and created all the motion design animations to explain some of the difficult history and notions in an easy to understand way.

The documentary has been presented in France (Paris, Strasbourg, Grenoble, Thionville, Aix, Rennes amongst others), England (London), Germany, and Canada (Montreal). We also had photography exhibitions (the Goldsmiths University of London, PZZL in Thionville, INALCO, Institut du Monde Arabe, Sciences Po Paris...).
